Common Ground Collection

Every city has its plaza, park, square, or other such space that brings together folks from all walks of life—to meet, to pass through, to see or be seen, to work, play, rest, think, trade ideas. Whatever the reason, these shared spaces are our common ground.

Inspired by these areas, our Common Ground Collection is a set of fine fragrances celebrating public spaces through scent. Representing key landmarks in cities around the world—from the sea breeze and cypress trees along San Francisco’s Embarcadero, to tobacco smoke and damp granite lining London’s Southbank—Common Ground fragrances evoke the spirit and scents of the spaces that unite us.

Fine fragrance is an olfactive work most commonly known as “perfume.” Such fragrances do not magically appear in a beautiful bottle—there is a trained perfumer who has refined that blend over countless variations (trials) likely over the course of months, if not years. Fine fragrance, as we know it today, consists of both natural raw materials and aroma molecules. It is not limited to this combination, but for the sake of making the distinction, that is the perfume industry’s general definition to date. Under the fine fragrance umbrella there are two major competing categories: “commercial” and “niche.”

There is no right or wrong answer to selecting fragrances. As long as it’s safe to wear, that decision is entirely subjective to the wearer. Different strokes for different folks.
