. . . Here they come with a big brass band up front
With tubas and trumpets and drums
At the head or the forming columns of men and women
Pouring in from the side streets
Into the Avenida de la Independencia in the center of Oaxaca...

Shabnam develops her scents with specific places or moments from her own experience in mind; this artistic approach forms a large part of why I find her perfumes so enjoyable. Because they spring from deep, personal associations on the part of their creator, they lend themselves naturally to new inflections from the wearer. I can’t help but to associate each Kismet scent with a specific place or season from my life, and wearing them allows me to not only revisit those memories, but to continue building my personal mythos for each perfume.
To that end, Wedding in Oaxaca always puts me in such a warm, mellow mindset - lazy weekends in the park while the evening sets in; days on the beach with mojitos, sunscreen, and fresh fruit. I enjoy wearing it when I travel or for days spent outside. A lovely scent for lovely times!
Favorite.
It's not a very long lasting scent
I'm really enjoying my rollerball version of this perfume! This was a blind buy, so I was really going by the notes listed. I do feel that I can really smell all of the notes in the description! I was hoping for it to lean a little more sweet with the coconut note, but I get more florals on myself. I don't typically like floral scents, but there's a fruity-ness and woodiness that balances it nicely. I'll definitely use this up but I don't think it's one that I'll repurchase.
I first smelled this in a little country store in Sonoma County. Another woman (I didn't know her) and I both sprayed it on our wrists, sniffed, and looked up at each other, and said, oh my God!
